Togeva welcomes prestigious RAE Award Winner

Togeva today announces that Dr. Nick Bryan-Kinns has been awarded a prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering Industrial Secondment to work with Togeva to develop lightweight methods and tools to evaluate mobile and social user interfaces. From April 2013 onwards Dr. Bryan-Kinns will be working for 8 months alongside Togeva’s mobile computing and user experience experts who are developing next generation mobile user experiences. The award – won against stiff competition from leading researchers in the UK, will enable Dr. Bryan-Kinns to continue his ground-breaking investigations into mobile collaboration, engagement and creativity.

Dr. Bryan-Kinns, a Senior Lecturer in the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science at Queen Mary, University of London, has identified that methods for evaluating user experience are often costly and time consuming, especially when they involve large numbers of end users, for example, in the social networking domain. This is particularly problematic for Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which simply cannot afford the financial or time commitments involved in extensive user experience testing. By working with Togeva, Dr. Bryan-Kinns will develop ‘lightweight’ techniques for user experience evaluation in mobile and social interaction with SMEs. Download the Full Press Release

The Royal Academy of Engineering is the UK’s national academy for engineering, and brings together the country’s most eminent engineers from all disciplines to promote excellence in the science, art and practice of engineering.

everywoman in Technology Leadership Academy

In the UK, women hold just 19% of ITC manager roles and only 14% of IT strategy and planning professionals are female. The everywoman in Technology Leadership Academy addresses this imbalance by developing the leadership skills of women, helping them progress in their careers. Following last year’s sell out event, this year, everywoman will hold two Leadership Academies in June and October. Come and see Togeva's CEO speak alongside these fantastic women at the June event.

The 2013 Academies focus on personal development – an essential consideration for any woman wishing to advance her career. Research commissioned by Alexander Mann Solutions and everywoman in 2012 found that although 80% of female middle managers wanted to progress, they did not prioritise their own training and development. The reality is that promotion opportunities do not just happen – you need to take stock and look at the bigger picture to take control of your career. These Academies will enable you to determine your future in this dynamic and exciting profession.
